The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. 


We will be attending a "Scriptorium" hosted by a dear family from church. Several families are getting together and reciting scripture. I am so excited. The kids and I already know and have memorized lots of scripture to song, courtesy of Seeds Family Worship, Rizers, and others. 

This will be a chance for them to witness in community, that what we do at home does not exist in a vacuum. That other parents are faithfully teaching their children in a like manner. For them to see older children, still, being instructed in the scriptures, and not eschewing them because it is no longer "cool."

Bless this time oh Lord.

Joy & Gratitude

  Today our home was filled with the pitter patter—or rather “stomp stomp stomp” of 14 pairs of little barefoot feet. Laughter, yelling, dancing, singing, running, hiding, seeking, eating, drinking, playing, reading, learning. My heart was full of joy. This is our hope for our home. That it would continue to be filled with these sounds. From our own children and from their friends. That families would come and be comfortable, opening and closing the fridge, washing dishes, doing laundry, moving about as if it were their own. That we would be together and have everything in common. Breaking bread in this home with glad and sincere hearts. Looking to the One who holds us all together.  At one point all the children were outside and one of the parents remarked how eerily quiet it had gotten within minutes. She’ll be the only one not there.“ “Think of how she will feel when they’re all talking about it on Sunday!” “I don’t want them to think of me and our family a certain way. They already think we’re weird because we don’t watch much tv, do sleepovers, criticize Disney, & aren't hip to the latest secular dance moves.” If I’m honest, these are the real reasons why I was upset about our family’s decision for Elizabeth not to attend a birthday party she was recently invited to.  The party is the weekend of her little brother’s birthday.
